The document below is therefore very important because it explains why we need certain personal data in order to provide certain services. Please read it carefully, as we have endeavored to explain a number of principles and concepts that are useful both in interacting with our website and in interacting with the online environment in general.

What is personal data?
According to the GDPR, “personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”). An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
There is no list of personal data, and the GDPR does not require states to compile such a list, for the simple reason that a piece of data may become personal data in a certain context, while in another context it may simply be information with no personal data value.
Here are some examples of personal data:
- name;
- someone’s domicile or residence;
- an email address;
- ID card, passport, or driver’s license number;
- location data (e.g., location data available on a mobile phone);
- an IP address;
- a cookie ID;
- a person’s silhouette from CCTV recordings;
- a car registration number;
Personal data refers to information about individuals, not legal entities. This distinction is important because, for example, the registration number from the Trade Register, tax code, or other identifying details of companies are not considered personal data. Furthermore, when an email address or telephone number clearly refers to a legal entity (e.g., office@emails or telephone numbers from a company’s public call center), then we are not talking about personal data.
It does not matter whether the processing of such personal data is done through an automated system or through a non-automated system (e.g., manual processing), if it is part of a structured data recording system. The only important thing is that we are talking about the processing of this type of data.
More information on understanding what personal data is can be found in Opinion No. 4 of 2007 on the concept of personal data, issued by the Article 29 Working Party.
Simplifying the above definition, we could conclude that personal data means data relating to a living person who can be identified using this data or based on this data and using additional information that is or may come into the possession of the data controller.
The information we collect
xtreme-vision.us collects personal data in two main ways:
Information provided directly by you through xtreme-vision.us forms (for example, as a result of registering as a member of the xtreme-vision.us community, as a result of requesting an xtreme-vision.us service, as a result of orders placed on the site, or as a result of subscribing to xtreme-vision.us newsletters).
Information we obtain when you use our services (for example, we process your interaction history with our newsletters in order to understand and limit the newsletters to those that interest you, your order history, etc.).
Data provided by you, directly
xtreme-vision.us uses forms through which you can create an account, place orders, leave reviews, or subscribe to xtreme-vision.us newsletters. These forms include fields such as name, email address, mobile phone number, password, details regarding the delivery address for certain products, billing details, etc.
We use this data to allow you to access the site and to deliver the products and services you have chosen to receive (ordered product, newsletters, etc.). The legal basis for this processing is the conclusion and execution of a contract to which you are a party (whenever you perform the above operations, you agree to the terms and conditions for the provision of those services) or your consent, if we are talking about sending commercial communications to you, without it being about similar products and services that you have already purchased from us, where we are entitled to send you commercial communications (but we will continue to offer you the option to unsubscribe from such communications at any time).
We may also need to request additional tax information if we are required by law to file tax returns in connection with the products and services you have ordered. In that case, we will refer to your address (required to be included on the tax invoice), as well as other tax information that we are required by law to collect.
Use of the xtreme-vision.us website
xtreme-vision.us automatically collects certain information, which it stores in its traffic reports. The information we are referring to may include the IP address of the device you are using to visit us, the region or general location from which you are accessing the site, as well as the type of browser, operating system, or device you are using to access us. In addition, it also collects a history of the pages you visit.
We use this information based on our legitimate interest in observing the extent to which the pages of the site correspond to the display needs of your particular device, to diagnose any problems our servers may have when delivering pages to certain types of devices, to analyze trends, and to observe how users can better navigate our pages.
We also collect statistical demographic information that helps us identify the preferences of Xtreme-vision.net visitors. Xtreme-vision.net also uses cookies, which you can read about in the section below.
